The second one was partially destroyed and the perpetrator took the time to write on it with a permanent marker and left it in our driveway. One one side was written "Fuck You" and on the other side was "Nigger Loving Asshole." After seeing the "n" word I called the police and reported it. They actually sent an officer out within an hour. Since we were white they did not log it as a hate crime, just as vandalism. I did express to the office that the message written on that sign was still about hate and racism. I was appreciative to see the police dept. send out the same officer to patrol the neighborhood and to go up and down the street and question neighbors to see if anyone had witnessed anything.
