Please help the Iowa Flood Victims!

Really?
No one has the time or money to help? So far 1 donation in a week from my best friend of $20.00.
Okay then. Maybe you should read the one comment on this post. I’m afraid it says it all.
Now I understand the economy sucks and gas is out of this world but I am asking for a very small individual donation from a lot of people. I’ll say it again….. Please?
I am again not posting for a week while I leave this up.

Hi. While I was away enjoying myself in Tahiti and New Zealand, I have come to find out that Iowa was devastated by floods. Yes, I know you already knew this. I feel terrible for those that have lost EVERYTHING to these floods. Do you?
I am asking for your help. I have a paypal account where you can donate money to help these victims. Many parents of young ones lost everything. The kids lost EVERYTHING. We can help. If you click on the donate button and donate money into the Paypal account (below in the middle of page), I will make sure the money goes to those victims. I have contacted Christine over at the Bean Blog who lives in Iowa. I have asked her to make sure the money we collect goes to a local charity to help the flood victims. SInce she lives in one of the worst hit areas, I am leaving it up to her discretion to pick the best choice to receive the money when we have finished collection it.
I am going to leave this post up for a week without posting any other posts on my blog. I will also make a donation to this cause from the Farty Pants Twins.
Please help. The kindness of strangers can go a long way. If everyone does just a little bit, it can add up to a lot. Pass this around to your friends and ask them to come to my site and make a donation as well. Let’s use the power of the internet for a good thing. Take some time and help those kids who lost everything.

I just sent you something through PayPal. I wish it could be more.
I think that many people prefer to make donations to a nonprofit so they have a better idea of where the money is going and so they can get the tax credit. Still, for a small amount, it can probably be claimed without any paperwork. And, even though I only know you through blogging, I trust the small amount will be used well.
I’m also surprised by the lack of comments. I wouldn’t go so far as to say I’m shocked though.

As a University of Iowa alumnus, this flood is particularly heartbreaking to me. Our campus is experiencing the highest flood waters in history and all roads except ONE linking to a major highway out of the city are underwater.
