Calling all Dad (daddy) Bloggers out there…
By
dad2twins on Oct 26, 2007 in All is right with the world, Did I ask for your advice?, Random thoughts..., What was I thinking?
When I first started writing this blog a couple of years ago, Sarah from Sarah and the Goon Squad was the first to welcome me to the blogosphere. She was my first blog friend. She is also a mommy blogger. A popular mommy blogger as well. These mommy bloggers have a cool network of other mommy bloggers and they support each other in their blogging endeavors. Even though I’m a daddy blogger, they have also welcomed me with open arms into their blogging world. To top it off, they even have this.
So Dads. Wassup? I’ve heard there are a lot of daddy bloggers out there. Some even read my blog. Hey Holmes, I’m talking to you. I have even heard there is a group called the Blogfathers. Though I’ve never heard from them. Besides the loosely knit clubs of daddy bloggers, there is no real network of daddy bloggers that I can find that rivals the network the mommy bloggers have.
There was a time when I kept a blog roll of the mommy bloggers, twin bloggers, daddy bloggers, etc. on my blog. I changed my blog template and now I can’t figure out how to work the blog roll anymore. (If you know how with this template, let me know.)
Getting to the point….
So here is what I want to propose. All of you mommy, daddy, twin and regular bloggers out there who know a daddy blogger, drop me a comment with there link. I want to know exactly how many daddy bloggers are out there and what you are writing about. If I get enough response, I will try to figure out how to network all of these links into something similar to the mommy networks out there. I’m sure there are enough of you who might be interested in this. If you are writing a blog they you probably want the publicity too.
So I will leave this post up as the top post for a few days so all of the rss readers out there can find it. Let me know who you are and how to find you. I will compile a list of all of you and figure out how to maximize our effect on the blogosphere. Who knows, maybe we can get the advertisers interested as well and make a few pennies off our combined power as a online demographic. Just one idea.
Thanks for participating in advance and I look forward to hearing from all of you.
One last thing, would you be so kind as to either link to this blog entry or mention my entry in a blog posting of your own to help move this idea forward. Cool, thanks.

I’ve thought we dads should do something like this too. There are a lot of links on my blog. I haven’t checked on some of them in a few weeks. I’m sure there are many more that I haven’t found too.
We should at least have all our links at one site. I’d like to know how many bloggers consider themselves daddy bloggers too.

So, just so I’m clear, you want a link to all the daddyblogs that we know of?
Holmes | Oct 26, 2007 | Reply
Hey Lance! There are only two daddybloggers on my blog roll – you and this guy:

I love getting a dad’s perspective and wish to read more – perhaps I’ll check out Darren and Holmes

Where should I start?
Do you want me to make you a list of all the Daddy Blogs I read? This could take a while.

I started a dad blog when our third child was about to be born.

What Sarah said. I’ve just barely started my blogroll, but I have tons of “daddy bloggers” in my feeder. I’ll make a list, post it and/or e-mail it to you.

Hi there. I have started blogrolling a lot of the Daddy bloggers out there and found a few through MyBlogLog. I think it is time we create our own badge or flair like the Mom’s have.

Hey there,
I’m not a Dad, but I’m working my family jewels off trying to be.
That’s what my blog is about, it IS frequented by a few Dads though, most of whom I have linked to on my Blog Roll. Some of them have some bloody good blogs too.

I check your blog fairly regularly, and enjoy it. Good Luck.

I haven’t updated my blogroll in a while (which is why so many are missing from it, including you), but a lot of the ones on there are dads.

I’m happy to join the Blogfathers. Fits my motto: Being a father isn’t always easy, but then again, neither is fantasy football.

Brian,
I have no affiliation with The Blog Fathers. Sorry if you got that impression. I do appreciate their work though.

I just ran across your blog today. It’s great.
I’m a daddy blogger myself. I always enjoy reading other dads’ experiences with fatherhood.

I am a daddy blogger as well, though I just recently started, I’ve been writing about my boys since my return from Iraq in 2003, when I was deployed they were in my thoughts so much that I thought it would be smart to capture it in print, my about page will explain. So if this is a network of Dads who can’t get enough of being Dad’s I’m in; lock, stock and smoking barrel.

I’m a Daddy Blogger and am quite jealous of how organized and how much attention the mommy bloggers get

Our parenting blog contains both moms and dads. The dads are myself (Rafael Olmeda), Luis Perez and Matthew Strozier. Others contribute, but we’re the regulars. I’ve got a newborn boy and stepteen girls.

I will have been blogging for three years in May. It’s been quite a ride, and I have really gotten to know a couple of other “daddybloggers” out there as well..
