Water, water, everywhere…

I believe with all my heart that my wife gave birth to fish. I have been checking the farty pants twins for gills, and have yet to discover where they keep them.
We are all about water. All of the time. Yes, we live on the face of hell in the summer time and it is regularly in the 90′s and 100′s. But, come on. Do we have to be in it ALL day?
Every morning the farty pants get up and the first thing they ask for is Chocolate Milk. (You thought I was going to say water, didn’t you?) Well, the next thing they ask about is water. When are we going to go to it, in it, around it, by it, over it, etc, etc.
I like water as much as the next guy, but jeez, this is rediculous.
How are your kids with this? Do they need to be playing in water all of the time?

With Jacob, we used to have to spell the word B-A-T-H because if we said it, he would strip his clothes off and go running for the tub. Even at almost 6, he takes 2 or 3 baths a day. It’s his way of self-soothing. Hannah, as a toddler, would just stand in the shower until the water ran cold. Both *LOVE* to swim. Bridget, on the other hand, *hates* to get her head and face wet. She does, however, enjoy climbing into the bathroom sink and getting her feet wet.
And all of them have a knack for flooding the bathroom floor. We have water stains on our basement ceiling to show for it.

O-ho-ho! Water! That thing that gets mommy’s clothes nice and splattered so she can waste even MORE time redressing herself…that stuff?? Yeah, after breakfast it’s usually “can I water the plants” or “my cars need a carwash” and such. So far The Big Guy’s shot grampa with the water hose, dumped truckloads of water onto Lil Miss Sunshine, and run through just about every sprinkler in the neighborhood in the name of “can’t get enough of it!”
Aaargh! Calgon, take me away!

My toddler learned the word “pool” a while back. Now he asks for it on a regular basis. Which is cool with me, since we live in Texas.

I don’t know what we’d do without our pool in the yard. The kids are in it every day. It rained all day long yesterday. In fact it was so bad it knocked our power out for two hours. But during a lull in the rain they wanted to know if they could go in the pool. Seriously? There was so much rain they could have swam in the puddles. And every single day they ask “Can we go to [insert name of one of the big city pools with the water slide and water features]?” Every day! Yeah, water has taken over our lives too. I feel your pain.
