These tags are causing bruises (Version 2.0)

It was not long ago that Christine at The Bean Blog tagged me (See post here.) Now Pokettiger over at Pumpkin Doodles has hit tagged me. My previous tag was to name 5 odd things about me, and now Pokettiger wants me to list 7 random facts and/or habits. Here goes.

  1. I don’t really like cheese. I hated cheese when I was a little kid. I wouldn’t even eat pizza. What kid doesn’t like pizza. And don’t even get me started about grilled cheese sandwiches. Now I love pizza and I don’t mind cheese as long as it is melted. I still not a fan of grilled cheese sandwiches and I still can’t stand raw cheese. Oh, and I don’t like Bree Cheese, even if it is melted. Go figure.
  2. I am a musician. I was once in a regionally popular band that has recorded albums. You may find these albums in the $1.00 used bins if your lucky. Our music was somehow popular in Holland in the 1980’s. We didn’t even know we were popular in Holland until we started receiving royalty checks. And unless I know you, I won’t tell you the name of the band. (ed note: Sheafe, shut up.) I can tell you we were like Duran Duran meets Simple Minds though. It was short lived for me, because I left after a couple of years. You know, the standard musical differences. But I did rejoin the band for a reunion show 2 0r 3 years ago. We did an awesome Led Zeppelin cover that all of the kids who saw us thought was cool.
  3. Do you remember Lex from Survivor Africa? I think it was season 3. He is a really good friend of mine and I grew up with him. Oh and Greg Camp, the guitar player from Smashmouth is also a friend of mine. There, that is a very random fact. By the way, Lex and Greg are in a new side band together. I don’t think they have a name yet, but Sheafe will know. (By the way, Sheafe is my buddy who keeps me honest on this blog. His wife Lisa has a really funny blog. See it here.)
  4. My family and friends say I talk a lot. Actually they will tell you I never shut up. Just the other day, my sister was talking to my mom and asked how she survived raising me because her daughter won’t shut up and talks as much as I do and it drives her crazy. My mom was nice and said she never noticed I talked that much.
  5. Speaking of my sister. She call me “Cliffy”. Remember Cheers? I love random useless trivia and I can keep all of these random facts in my head. They hate to play Trivial Pursuit with me and I rule at Balderdash. By the way, if you like to play Balderdash, you can invite me over. I can’t find anyone who likes to play this game as much as I do. No seriously, I will come over if you play it.
  6. I was/am an Eagle Scout. Back when the Boys Scouts were cool and didn’t hate gays and just wanted to have fun on camping trips. I spent my whole childhood camping and fishing and I can survive in the wilderness with little more than a warm jacket and a knife. I actually spent two weeks doing this in the Sierra’s when I was 18. They were two LONG weeks.
  7. I was arrested with Lex (see item 3) on Earth Day about 10 years ago in Big Sur for indecent exposure and trespassing on public lands. I know it didn’t make sense to me either. We were running through this waterfall here. When we went before the judge, I pled no contest and told the judge it was Earth Day. I got off with a $50 fine. Lex had another Judge and plead guilty and had to pay a $300 fine. Sucker. (Sorry Lex).

All right, that’s it. I’m done. No I need to go put some ice on my bruise where I was tagged. Oh, and the first seven of you bloggers that read this who haven’t been tagged are it. Start writing.

  1. Hey there Cliffy! Great list. I feel I know you so much better now :-) Duran Duran was my favorite band as a teen girl. Posters in my room, fantasies in my mind. Nevermind the men wore more makeup than me and had better hair. It was a dream come true when I saw them in concert in special seating due to a close friend having connections - her uncle just happens to be in Santana - the closest I get to being cool and knowing someone in the music industry. You however have lived the wild rock life style :-) I also got to attend Duran Duran’s video shoot at the Oakland Coliseum! Bet you’re jealous now. And hey, we play Balderdash too! Wanna come over? One rule though, you have to keep your clothes on, even if it is Earth Day.

  2. Woohoo, Eagle Scout over here too. Their whole anti-gay stance has me wondering if it’s something I want my son to be a part of, but it was lots of fun when I did it.

My mom loves to tell the story of how I hated pizza when I was little, then one day at daycare I tried it and decided I liked it. So she took me out to a real live pizza restaurant, where I proceeded to bawl my little eyes out because their pizza looked different from my daycare’s pizza.

  3. WTF? Lex and Greg get to be tags, and I don’t?

    I am Sheafe!

  4. I did Philmont too. Never made it eagle scout, which I guess is good for them given the life I lead now, but it seriously was one of the best adventures of my life.

Curiousity is peaked on the band thing, though.
