Jesus was in Augusta yesterday!

Happy belated Easter to everyone. We survived Easter and actually enjoyed all of the trappings that make this holiday one of my favorite. Food! I love food and I love all the stuff that everyone brings over for Easter. We had Ham and Macaroni salad and the yummy Hawaiian bread roles, and on and on and on. Oh and Chocolate. There was chocolate.
My Wife and my Sister put together an Easter Egg hunt for all of the girls. It was a big success. A couple of days before we went to a little nic-nac store and bought about $15 worth of cheap Chinese made crap to put in the eggs. My Sister bought candy and chocolates for the eggs as well. The kids ran around finding all of the toys and candy and then realized that the eggs actually had stuff in them. Once Kiera and Reese figured out that there was chocolate in them, the game was over and the chocolate eating began. We had to jump in and restrain Kiera from eating ALL of the chocolate all at once. By the end of the day, all four of the kids had chocolate smeared all over their faces. The true measure of a successful Easter in my book. We decided we would worry about the sugar high later.
We were blessed with a truly significant Easter present as well. The final of the Masters golf tournament. It was close and came down to Tiger’s second shot on the 18th hole before we knew that Zach Johnson from Cedar Rapids Iowa (A shout out to The Bean Blog folks in Cedar Rapids) was declared the official winner. What made this Easter so special was finding out that Jesus actually has had his second coming. According to Zach, Jesus was walking with him during his play on Easter Sunday. Now I am not an overly religious sort, but it was very exciting to find out that on such an important Christian holiday, Jesus chose a young man from Cedar Rapids, Iowa to tag along with and help him win the Masters. Now, I would have thought that Jesus was much too busy with his other official duties yesterday to make an appearance at the Masters, but that just goes to show that the Masters is one of golfs most important events and, secondly it shows just how loving Jesus really is. Wouldn’t you agree?
I know, I’m going to burn in hell. I hope you had a Happy Easter anyway.

The radio station was talking about renaming Cedar Rapids “Johnson”ville just for today. They were going to have the mayor on this morning to discuss it. I don’t get up that early though so I didn’t hear whether or not they convinced the mayor. They want to proclaim April 10th “Johnson”ville Day. And they said they’ll serve brats. Johnsonville brats. Those radio guys are so clever.
