Rules for surviving Christmas with children…

For those who don’t have kids of their own and want to enjoy Christmas when children are present.

Rule 1: It’s probably best if you don’t show up at all if you want a quiet Christmas. But since you WANT to spend time with your family, and your family includes small children…. It’s probably best to bring ear plugs, patience, and a sense of humor.

Rule 2: If you drink the night before, all bets are off for a peaceful Christmas morning. Hang overs are your problem, not ours.

Rule 3: When Grandma gives every small child a really annoying whistle and they all blow them at the same time, don’t be grumpy, see rule #1 and I’d advice against drinking the night before. (Rule 2).

Rule 4: Leave the kids at home and we can all enjoy Christmas. Oh wait, I can’t do that. Besides, Christmas is about the kids anyway, right?

Rule 5: Expect chaos on Christmas morning. It WILL be loud. The kids will be excited, and the world does revolve around them.

In case your wondering. We had a very dramatic Christmas this year. But is was fun and the kids loved it. Pictues will follow soon. My wife is in charge of the camera.
