I’m back, I’m back in the saddle again.

Singing along to Aerosmith of course.

We made it. What a trip that was. For those of you who don’t follow along, We moved. We sold the house and packed up all of our shit and moved to Lincoln, CA. This is but a temporary stop along the road to our eventual destination, Auburn, CA.
The moving company showed up. That was the first hurdle to overcome last Sunday. Then they brought a truck that WOULD NOT fit all of our stuff. Either we get rid of stuff or I rent a U-Haul. So I rented the U-Haul. Did I mention it was raining. (You will understand the rain part in a minute.)
So after 3 hours of packing the truck, it was apparent that our stuff was not going to fit. I called my Sister and she lined me up a U-Haul. I went down and picked it up and by the time I got back the movers were already heading out. With my $2000 mattress wrapped in plastic on the back of the truck outside on the lift gate. I didn’t have time to complain, because they drove off. My Mom mentioned to them that it was going to get wet and they said; “No problem, we wrapped it up in plastic.”
After packing the rest of the stuff into the U-Haul, I said my goodbyes and headed out. It rained, and rained the whole way up to Lincoln. I arrived at about the say time as the movers. The first thing they did was remove the mattress from the outside of the truck and ……. wait for it….. It was soaking. Ruined. Black stuff was all over it from the road and dirt and diesel fumes, etc. The Foreman took some pictures and said he would email them to the head office to see if they would reimburse me for the mattress. Still waiting to here back from them.
We have spent the last few days unpacking. Oh, did I mention, I’m sick. I feel really crappy. Headache, green gunk coughing up from my lungs and a runny nose. Full blown Cold or Bronchitis or something. I called my Doctor back in San Jose and he was kind enough to call in a prescription for me up here to pick up.
Now tomorrow I have to drive 400-500 miles round trip to a brewery in Mendocino County in the back woods. It’s about 4 hours there and 4 hours back. Yes, I drive fast. I married a German remember.
At least we have internet access again, I will try to get back to my regularly scheduled programming.
Thanks to all of you who sent me emails checking in on me. That was nice. Now send some chicken soup please.
