An open letter to “Sleep”

Dear Sleep,
Why did you leave us. What did we do to you. Did you run off with Daylight Savings Time and abandon those who love you so?
You bastard. I would have been your best customer. You have let all of us down and we will never forgive you.
Wait, I didn’t mean that. Please come back. I love you. I didn’t mean to be upset. It is the lack of…well… you (sleep) that makes me this way. My wife misses you. My daughter misses you. The only one who you seem to prefer is Reese. She is obviously your favorite. You stay with her all night and leave the rest of us to fend for ourselves. Why?
Do I need to find your ugly step-sister sleeping pill? She never lets us down. She always gives us the first night free. But she’s a bitch. After a couple of nights with her, she stops working her magic. And she won’t hang with Kiera. Something about morals and little kids, yaddy, yah, yah.
Kiera doesn’t care anyway. She likes to hang with Mommy and Daddy all night in our bed. She thinks it is a slumber party without the slumber.
But one of you needs to come back into our lives NOW!!! Which one is it going to be? I expect to see one of you in my room tonight when I go to bed or I am going to have a talk with Mr. Insomnia and you both will be out of business.
Got it? Good.

It must be a time change thing.
At least one of the twins has been in our bed every night this week.
