Getting the cold shoulder from my kids.

I guess I work too much. I try to spend time in the morning with my girls. We usually get up around 5:30 a.m. and hang out together until 6:15 a.m. or 6:30 a.m. playing on the bed together. Then I get up and go to work. I get home around 4:30 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. and play with them for an hour until they eat dinner, get bottles and go to bed around 6:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. (Yes, our kids sleep a long time. And yes, we are lucky.)

I also try to come home at lunch time to at least let the kids know that I am still alive. I spend most of my time eating and laughing at the girls antics.
Well, it appears I am not spending enough time with them during the week. I have been getting home and getting the cold shoulder from them. They smile when I get home and then POOF! I disappear. I have tried to lay on the ground and play with them, but I just become a mountain to crawl over on the way to their toys and their Mom.

My Wife says it is just a phase. I hope so. Because I am getting tired of being invisible during the week only to reappear on the weekends.

  1. It is a phase with us too, and it seems to come and go. Two weeks ago The Goon Squad wanted nothing to do with their father. This weekend they couldn’t get enough of him.
