The kids are 10 months this week and they still like us. (But I’m prepared)

We are hitting 10 months this week and our kids haven’t packed up and left home yet. They still like us. They both have perfected the rolling around the house and the Army crawl on their elbows. I think we have created little soldiers, not little charming girls.
The reason I mention the packing up and leaving home part is because they are starting really crawl and stand. Kiera wants to crawl on her hands and knees really badly. She has this little bunny hop she does but it really isn’t a real crawl yet. Reese, on the other hand has no interest in crawling, all she wants to do is stand. If you hold her hands, she will attempt a little goosestep walk. It is hilarious except that my wife is German. (LOL) Oh boy are we in trouble with this one. She is stubborn and will be walking first. (My bet for the first one to hit the road when she gets the chance.)
We are in the process of baby proofing everything. No one told me I would have to spend a small fortune on the various crap you need to keep your kids from getting into all the other crap that is not good for them. Jeez, the things we do for our kids.
So in anticipation of their first chance to make a run for it because they are mad at us, I have packed little backpacks full of diapers, bottles, name tags (They don’t speak yet) and a toy or two. This way, when they hit the road they will have all the necessary stuff to get them to the end of the driveway before they have to come back home again. Hey, better to be prepared for these kind of things right?

Here is the thing with babies (especially girl babies). When they get mad at you - you still remain their comfort. So my daughter just YELLS “Mommy” and makes me pick her up and flails like crazy and yells some more “AAAAAAAARRRRRRRR, MOMMY!”
Maybe if I packed her a bag we could avoid all of this.
