You mean you don’t need a license?

It is amazing to me that you need a license to drive a car, a license to get married, a license to go fishing, but any idiot can have kids without a license. Not to say that all of you parents out there are idiots, but really now, shouldn’t we need a license to raise a kid?
Our first day home form the hospital was 5 days after the kids were born. We felt overwhelmed at the prospect of having complete responsibility for these kids by ourselves. We had just left the cacoon of the the maternity ward, where Nurses and Doctors and Family and Friends all offered advise and comfort. Now we were home alone with 2 kids that weghed roughly 4.5 and 5.5 lbs apiece. What were we thinking?
Our first task was to unpack the car, feed the kids and take a nap. Naps! Oh how I love naps. One of the first things I learned after coming home was when your kids sleep, you sleep. Sage advise if there every was any. With twins that is even more important. If they decide to tag team you and keep seperate sleeping hours, you are so screwed. I hope you have a strong marriage, because it is only a matter of time before you and your wife will be at each other out of shear lack of sleep. It too, will soon pass.
